Artist's Comments

The leopard is the unifying factor in this setting that holds the ‘cosmos’ depicted in the background. I have used contrasting colours (the blue of the sky and the golden earth) There is a storm brewing and yet there is quite a lot of play by the warm sunlight. The bushveld looks dry and barren, yet the rain will bring life (water is also a symbol of change)
These contrasting colours and imagery reflect on life itself. Life is made up of these contrasts – the good & the bad, lack & fulfillment, darkness & light. One cannot fully appreciate the other without experiencing its opposite aswell.
It is the finding of that balance between the contrasts that is part of the essence of life. The leopard of course represents this balance, it is relaxed and at peace in its universe. The leopard’s eyes are fixed firmly on the light source ie. the sun. The sun is a source of life, without it nothing can exist. There are many positive symbols that can be derived from the sun.

Wow its beautiful, the detail on the leopard is so fine.
I love the clouds as well, they look really fluffy and, uh, cloud like :)

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you do criticize them, you're a mile ahead and you have their shoes.

OOh very pretty. It looks like a illustration from a book.

Browsing around your gallery here I find such majesty in all you do, photography, fine art, the lot! You simply cannot know how great it is to see all the things I hold so sacred about art overflowing in one spot. Somehow the symbolism seems subtle, yet dramatic. I love the contrast in colors and concept, the wonderful realism of the leopard and the surrealistic sky. As wildly energetic as this is, there's also a sort of radiating peace. Positively amazing!

The detailing in this is amazing, the leopard's fur and the clouds especially. I love the contrast between the crackly dry veld and the clouds and rain.
Absolutely amazing :)
