The Murder of Peace
Wallpaper version [link] South African Crime Statistics per capita Murder 19 202 - that's an average of 52 a day Assaults 218 030 - that's an average of 597 a day Rape 52 617 - that's an average of 144 a day Stats: issafrica.org [link] 2006/2007 How does this barbaric behavior compare in your country ? Do you live in a country at war/involved in a war ? then all of the above applies. Are you a victim/ do you know of some-one that is a victim of crime ? Do you possess/ know of someone that possesses a firearm ? Do you still feel sorry for the bird ? Every second of the day, somewhere in the world, someone is murdering peace. I'm sorry John, but it seems that no one has 'given peace a chance'. Has peace ever existed at all ? What are we to do about it ? Before all the animal rights activists are up in arms - I DID NOT KILL THE BIRD!! Just browse through my gallery and you will soon realise that I am a nature/animal lover. This was one of those freak occurrences - the turtle-dove tried to fly through my garage window. It collided with such force that it bounced back at least 3 meters before dropping to the floor. but when i heard about the crime rate in SA.. (my guy lives in south africa, and i've heard of the crime rate there from him) it got me stunned at first, and the more i hear about it, the more pissed off i get and upset about it; it makes me sick cause i think its just not fair.
but then again, life never is.
i like the concept of the picture--i think its a common one but still, its a good real-life moment captured on film that gives deeper meaning.
poor birdie though.

The frightening thing is that many violent crimes are committed by people that know their victims in some way. I used my own country as a reference, but there are many horrifying statistics around the world on other levels (such as war, exploitation, etc, etc) Just do a web search.
I think the point I'm trying to make is that society as a whole is diseased - we need to take a closer look at ourselves.
Look, this is to my knowledge, still one of the most beautiful countries in the world with some of the most amazing people.
Crime is an issue - yes.
My sincere hope is that we can come through it as we did with the last regime.
